Dragon Boat Festival
Ni jinnian wang heli rengle duoshao mi?
Wait, did someone just ask me how much rice I threw in the river?
It must be because the Dragon Boat Festival is coming up later this month, on the 16th. Expect to see some intense dragon boats racing and, yes—people throwing rice in the river. Or at least that’s what you might have seen thousands of years ago. Today, we don’t do this—we make delicious zongzi (rice cakes). It’s all done in the name of the ancient scholar and statesmen Qu Yuan.
